Information
I have been working on this menu on and off for a few weeks with many failed attempts to get it to work cross browser. However I have finally managed to produce this version. The top level links use the 'sliding doors' technique so that they can accomodate any length text (within reason) and are centered in the menu. The drop line links use changing background images, can have text of any length and are also centered in the menu.
I have shown three styling options:
- The basic drop line menu without any pre-selected links.
- Showing how to add the style to indicate a top level selected link. This will show the drop line for the chosen top level link.
- The last showing how to style a top level link and a drop line link.
This menu has been tested and works in IE6, IE7, Firefox, Opera, Netscape, Mozilla, Safari (PC) and Safari 3.0.3 (Mac).
- Download pro_dropline.zip containing the html for the three menu options, external stylesheets and all images.
