Information

Following on from a few of my recent demonstrations and an email from Rick Allen, this is yet another method of providing an art gallery or photo gallery or indeed anything that can be subdivided into various categories.

Just hover the mouse over each menu option and follow the trail to reveal an image that can be accompanied by a piece of text. The image and text can also be made into a link that could take your visitor to a more detailed image and further full text information.

This works in IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox, Safari(PC), Opera and Chrome and probably most Mac browser.

The xhtml is held in the info div and make use of my latest discoveries with conditional comments. The CSS can be found in the source code of this page.

Updated so that the path :hover state is retained in Firefox etc as well as in IE6.

Because of all the time and effort spent in producing this demonstration I would ask that you respect my copyright.

1. If you are using this on a personal web site then please add a link back to CSSplay and retain any copyright comment in the stylesheet.
A donation to the 'Support CSSplay' fund would be appreciated.

2. If you are using this on a commercial web site, or as a paying job for a client, then please email me asking for permission - stu{at}cssplay.co.uk and in this case a donation to the 'Support CSSplay' fund is required.

3. If you are having problems integrating any of my demonstrations into your website then I now offer a service to fault find and correct any errors that you may have introduced. Please email me for more information.

Testimonial

"The citroen.co.uk web site uses
CSS play code for the site drop down menus.
This code works seamlessly in IE 6 & 7, and is an excellent solution to the Creative requirements of the site."
